Gold Coast Beaches Accommodation

The Gold Coast has an abundance of beautiful sandy beaches along its vast coastline. The Gold Coast boasts over 70 kilometres of beach, stretching from the famous Greenmount at the far south of the Gold Coast to The Spit at the northern end. Tourists and locals flock to the beaches all year round in huge numbers enjoying the safe patrolled swimming zones (flagged areas) that are provided by local council lifeguards and the local Surf Clubs lifesavers.

Remember to always swim between the flags and check with local lifeguards for beach conditions if unsure before entering the water. Never swim on a full stomach. Apply sun cream at regular intervals if spending a prolonged amount of time in the sun.

Listed below are a number of the most popular visited beaches along the Gold Coast coastline but by no means all. Use our beach selector on the menu bar to further select your destination. This page provides a good starting point and a broad outline of the Gold Coast.

Surfers Paradise at the heart of the Gold Coast, is a must visit place when staying on the Gold Coast. Enjoy the surf, sun, sand by day and stop by a restaurant or venture into the night clubs offering a broad range of entertainment, by night.

Felling lucky? Try your luck at Conrad Jupiters Casino, in the heart of Queensland's glorious Gold Coast, it is located on its own lush tropical island - Broadbeach Island. Situated on the Gold Coast Highway, just minutes drive from Surfers Paradise tourist hub, Conrad Jupiter includes the Hotel Conrad, 6 world class restaurants, state-of-the-art theatre, around the clock excitement in Jupiters Casino, a night club and many recreational facilities.

Burleigh Heads is also a must visit as a popular surfing beach and has an excellent esplanade for a stroll in the shade while taking in the shopping and cafes. Take a walk along the path to the north and south, enjoying the shade provided by the Norfolk Island Pines. Walk up the cliff to the North for a view over the perfect waves and along the coastline. Take a walk around and through Burleigh Heads National Park. Enjoy the scenic 2.8k walk along the ocean view track or the 1k rainforest walk. Burleigh Heads offers protection during south easterly winds and a nice clean right surf wave can be found.

Kirra beach is the first beach at the southern end of the Gold Coast. Protected bays of this area include world famous names like Greenmount, Rainbow Bay and Coolangatta. All provide nice clean safe swimming and huge amounts of sand to enjoy.

Kirra Beach is an excellent place to stop and have a swim, a meal or just relax in shaded areas. Let the children loose in the playground or take a stroll along the esplanade. All the sand makes for a great environment for activities like volleyball, cricket and simply lazing in the sun.

Greenmount Beach and Coolangatta offers sand as far as the eye can see, so just kick back and take in the suns warming rays. Take a dip in the cool refreshing water, have a meal or just relax in shaded areas. Let the children loose in the playground or take a stroll along the esplanade. Greenmount offers everything the beach visitor needs to enjoy the day in the sun. Remember to take lots of sun protection for the day outside.

Rainbow Bay, the southern most bay picks up a little more surf than the other bays and is popular with the wave riders. Laze around on the expansive Rainbow Beach and enjoy a broad range of beach activities. Have a BBQ or enjoy some fish and chips under the sheltered areas and watch the children enjoy the playground and park areas. Take the walk south and up to the hill to Point Danger and enjoy the brilliant views in all directions from the Point Danger viewing platform with full wheelchair access.
