FEATURES:Kirra
Beach, an excellent place to stop and have
a swim, a meal or just relax in shaded areas.
Let the children loose in the playground or
take a stroll along the esplanade. All the
sand makes for a great environment for activities
like volleyball, cricket and simply lazing
in the sun.
SURFING:Kirra
Point is what the surfers come to the Gold
Coast for. It's a heavy wave when a strong
south easterly swell is hitting, and is best
for the experienced surfer. The current is
fierce, dragging the unsuspecting wave rider
to the north. Kirra is a very quick wave so
be ready for a roller coaster ride, simply
bottom turn and go. Kirra Point, an unforgettable
wave for even the most travelled surfer.
FISHING:Fish
on the beach during the day or night for dart
and bream. Better results during the winter
months when the crowds are less and the fish
are plentiful. Try around the small rock walls
during the high tide for mixed results.
WALKING:A
tranquil walk south to Greenmount and on,
marvel at the amount of sand on the beach
stretching almost as far as the eye can see.
When the swell is up watch the surfers from
Kirra Point get some amazing rides.
