An open beach, further most south of the Gold Coast, Duranbah is popular with the surfers due to its ability to pick up the smallest swell and turn it into a powerful wave. The beach can have rips due to the shifting sands and numerous gutters so remember to always swim between the flags. There is limited parking especially when the surf is on and surfers have occupied all the parks close to the beach, its best to park along the Tweed River and walk to the beach.

Local Surf Life Saving Club - Tweed Heads & Coolangatta SLSC

FEATURES:At the south end of the beach you will find BBQ's, sheltered picnic areas and toilets or take the walk up the hill to Point Danger and enjoy the brilliant views in all directions from Point Danger viewing platform which offers full wheel chair access. You can park at the top of the hill right at the tower.
SURFING:When everywhere else on the Gold Coast is too small, Duranbah is the place to head. Duranbah has an uncanny ability to offer a good powerful wave even on the smallest swell. When the swell is up the area is best for the experienced surfer.
FISHING:Excellent fishing all year round try the beach at dawn or dusk or fish the tweed bar off the rock wall for quality catches of all species.
WALKING:Take a stroll along the tweed river or out to the rock wall to the navigational tower.
