FEATURES:There is sand for as far as the eye can see on Coolangatta beach so just kick back and take in the suns warming rays. Take a dip in the cool refreshing water, have a meal or just relax in shaded areas. Let the children loose in the playground or take a stroll along the esplanade.
SURFING:Coolangatta is a very pleasant wave, popular with the Malibu riders when the swell is smaller. Try the low tide for a more powerful ride. It is possible to catch wave after wave all the way down to Kirra Beach but don't forget the long paddle or walk back. Wear lots of sun protection, the long days in the sun are common when you are surfing perfect waves and it is easy to loose track of time.
FISHING:Fish on the beach during the day or night for dart and bream. Better results during the winter months when the crowds are less and the fish are plentiful. Try around the rocks during a high tide for mixed results.
WALKING:Take a stroll in either direction along the beachfront watching the waves or enjoying the shopping. You will find some brilliant views to the north as you progress.
